I moved a Japanese weeping maple last fall and it has very little leaf activity this year. I have a few branches leafing out and the rest look brown, but still somewhat green inside when I cut them. Should I cut them all back and let it heal what is actually leafing? It won’t let me upload my photo
I also have it planted in my garden which gets afternoon sun, we are getting the yard graded and have nowhere else to go at this point. But I don’t want to stress it by another big move again later on
Don’t move it since it is already stressed. I’d not prune it yet. Make sure you didn’t bury it too deep and soak the soil with a soluble food like Jack’s Blossom Booster every couple of weeks. The phosphorus in the Blossom Booster will stimulate quick root growth to help it therough the shock it is experiencing.
