Is it too late to put down new seed since the temperatures have already dropped? Should I wait for dormant seeding (after Thanksgiving)?

You’re right on the edge. Looking at the forecast, I’d say go for it ASAP. After the cool weekend, it looks like a warm enough stretch for getting grass up ans established. If you can’yt get to it in the next few days, I’d out it off.
