It is the middle of April and I love these patches of Low growing purple flowers that I see in neighbors yards. Do you have any idea what they are and how I can go about getting them for my yard?Thank you, Brenda

It may be Scilla (aka Siberian Squill) which spreads relatively quickly although they look more blue to me. Crocus are also putting on their show right now and they come in all sorts of colors including purple. These all grow from bulbs that you plant in fall. Wild violets may also be showing up in the lawns. If you can beg a couple off a neighbor, they are perennial and will spread quickly. If you can send me a good picture, that would help narrow it down.
