Hello,

i am wondering if you can help me. I am a first time gardener and am unsure of what is happening to my plants. They were originally growing in plastic cups or the 6 pack black containers. They were doing well and thriving. When I went  to place them in the ground they were fine and the next day looked like they had completely died. They are not completely dead but simply wilted.  Im not sure if it is an issue of they are receiving too much sun or if it is the transplant shock that I read about. I’m not sure how to care for them and to bring them back from how they were thriving before.

If these were grown inside, they need a transition period to get used to the sunlight outside.  Providing them shade, especially from the afternoon sun for a week or so after they’ve been moved outside would have prevented this.  Shade them now and keep the soil moist (not wet) and hopefully they will recover.
