I plan to dethatch and aerate my lawn before overseeding this fall. It’s mid August , my lawn has crab grass and clover. Shall I go ahead with my plan of overseeding and worry about the weeds in the spring?

I’d go ahead and reseed.  You’ll need a crabgrass preventer in spring to stop that from returning.  Clover will riquire a liquid weed killer spray in mid to late June.
