Hi, I have 3 blue spruce on my property, they are all about 12 – 15 years old. They are 20 -25 feet tall, starting to have the lower branches die off. Is there a certain fertilizer that I can get to give them to help them out. I have read a lot of info that says 10 – 10 – 10 would be good or Holly Tone. Just watched your clip on the Friday News Show, always great to see those episodes! Thanks for a reply in advance. Regards, Gary

Use the Holly-Tone on your spruces using he same method I used in the segment.  Also check that mulch hasn’t been piled up against the bark of the trees.  Get under there and brush any mulch away from the trunk until you find the original soil the tree came in.  Mulch or soil piled against the bark slowly strangles the tree but hindering the flow of nutrients and moisture from the roots to the foliage abopve.
