hi peter, i sent you a question on my raspberries, but i haven’t seen it answered. you have so many questions, which i love reading reading, so i could have missed it.noone seems to know the answer to this, so i’d appreciate any help you could give me. i planted joan j raspberries about 4 years ago. they were really huge, sweet and not a lot of seeds. now they are all changing over to a totally different berry. they are still thornless, but the berry is flatter with large seeds. i thought maybe i should dig the bad ones up and replace them in the spring with runners from the good ones. thanks for your help.

I suspect your Joan J raspberries are reverting to one of the types that was used to create the hybrid. About your only option is to dig out the reversions to promote the Joan Js.
