hi peter,started tomato seeds a week ago with heat mat. seedlings sprouted and are about two inches already.(leggy).I removed heat mat and have a t5 bulb kit from ferry morse on them now. will the t5 bulb make them more leggy and how close should I have the bulb. I have 24 tomato seedlings and don’t want to lose them like I did last year because they got too leggy. I also have them in one of those pop up green houses in my den right now. should I put a small fan with a light breeze on them. thankyou barry
The light should be as close as possible without overheating the leaves..probably just a few inches and they should run for 15 hours a day so a timer is handy. A small fan is a great idea to lightly jiggle the plants to strengthen the stems.
