I am getting an old hackberry removed from my property. It is about 5 feet in diameter. I have found a tree on Hewitt’s lot that I would like to replace it with. It is a fairly mature Norther Red Oak. It looks to be about 5 inches in diameter and 25 feet tall, priced at $650. My question is: Is it recommended to plant the tree in the hole after root-removal of old tree? And if so what are costs of transportation and planting?
