I repotted all of my house plants with new pots and soil. My plants are ‘significant’ plants, I have bought none of them and the oldest is from 2003, saved from my husband’s Aunt who since passed away, 2008,2009, (both dish plants) one a Mother’s Day gift, the other one given to me when my Mom passed. Then one is a plant from one of the dish plants and the youngest a Christmas dish from last year. They all are meaningful to me. I have already used peroxide solution on soil x3. Also, little cups with a mixture of sugar water and dish detergent. Also, mice sticky boards cut up and placed over soil. Lastly, a friend said that she used Ferti-lome caterpillar killer with Bt and that did the trick, although she sued a concentrate I believe, where what I used was ready to use. I saturated the soil and sprayed the leaves as best as I could and also avoided watering the plants. They are also sitting out in my garage with a temp no higher that 54, hoping the coldness would also help kill the bugs. I also kept the sticky on top of the soil. Now today I see on those cards, bugs!! I am at a loss as to what to do. In all these years, I have NEVER had this kind of issue with these plants, or any issue at all, other than the need for them to be repotted. HELP!!!

The old will not kill them.  I’ suggest continued use of the sticky traps but hung just above the plants so the males that fly are trapped.  Without the males, they eventuall can’t reproduce.  Weekly spraying the plants ans surface of the soil with insecticidal soap (not home made dish soap but real insrcticidal soap you buy at the garden center) will kill any that are there on contact.  It may take a month or so but you can beat them.
