I thought the spray and the granuals worked together.. I was finding tiny little flying bugs on my basil plant that I keep inside so I sprayed it and also put the systemic in the soil. Should I throw the plant out or change the soil? I have eaten some of the basil but always wash it before I do… Am I doomed ??? Thank you in advance..Gail L.

It takes a couple of weeks for the systemic insecticide  to make it to the leaves so I doubt you ate any. However, I’d discard the plant.
