They can be grown from cuttings but it is a multi year process.  They can be dug up and moved when dormant in late fall or early spring but it is a bit late to attempt it now (5/13).  You can continue to plant rhododendrons that you find in pots or balled in the nursery all summer long although spring planting is best.
