Hi, I was over this afternoon to Clifton park and asked the young lady at the counter if sunflowers were perennials. She said no. After some research, it appears there are annuals AND perennials. Just wanted her to have the correct information for the next customer. She might remember because I was surprised that SPAC planted those year after year. Thanks.

“Sunflower” is a common name and there are some plants that are called “sunflowers”  like helianthus that are hardy.  The typical “sunflower” that most people think of are annuals…which is why SPAC needs to plant them year after year.
