When I search online, mostly it says fall, but found spring as well.  One search found that if it is a young tree, early spring is best, which may be too late at this point. We bought one a few years ago but it did not make it.  My mom bought us a Hewitts gift card to get a memorial dogwood for my mother-in-law who passed away last month.  I definitely want to make sure it takes this time so looking for some advice.  Thank you

The earlier in spring, the better.  The more time it has to establish a root system, the better.
