My lawn is spotty and it will fill in with crabgrass and other weeds, I do have a sprinkler system but I was wondering should I plant seed now or wait and treat for crabgrass and then spread seed?

If you spread grass seed, you’ll need a special crabgrass preventer that is made for new lawns. The regular crabgrass preventer found in “Step 1” will stop all seeds from germinating. The other option is to get your seed down and keep it well watered to get the turf grasses established to compete with the crabgrass and then treat next spring to finish off the crabgrass.
