Hello – I was just wondering if you have any advice about planting trees. Specifically I was wondering if it’s alright to plant in spring rather than fall, and what some small, hearty trees are (that Hewitt’s would carry) that generally do well in upstate NY.
Thank You. -Evan C.

It is actually best to plant trees in April and May so they have a full season to put some roots down and get acclimated before the next winter.
We carry a wide variety of trees that are hardy here and we guarantee them so we make sure they are appropriate for the climate here. I’d suggest dropping by in April to see what appeals to you.
